Another POPAI victory – the Water House project
We scored again at this year's POPAI competition – 2017! The competition was fierce, but we fought our way to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. For MORIS design, the winning category was "Ecological Concepts" with the implementation of the interiors of the Water House Visitor Center. This is an interactive exhibition on the importance of water and the need to protect it, located on the banks of the Želivka River.
A visit to the Water House will be an unforgettable experience for the whole family. Imaginative, well-thought-out, and unique interactive elements describe the journey of water in all its forms.
The exhibition is entered through a dramatically lit tunnel with a diameter of 2.6 m. It is an exact replica of a functional tunnel that supplies drinking water to Prague. The water microcosm section displays exhibits that are a thousand times larger, floating gracefully in space. Precise macro photographs of aquatic animals complete the picture. Young visitors in particular will appreciate the interactive exhibits with microscopes, shells, a water pump, running water, and a cloud factory.
The central part of the exhibition takes visitors below the water surface. The ceiling here becomes the water surface, and its play of light and shadow multiplies the underwater experience. All exterior exhibits are made of stainless steel and are very intuitive and safe to use.
