Life at MORIS is more cheerful. An interview with Kolja, who has been working here for 17 years.

How did you get into MORIS design? It was actually a big coincidence. I saw an advertisement on the bus that MORIS was looking for technicians, assemblers, and others. I got off the bus right away and headed to the company. After a 20-minute interview with Radomír Klofáč (the company's founder), we agreed that I would start on Monday. It was Thursday, so it was a really quick start.

You've been with the company for 17 dizzying years. How come you've stayed so long? I like good relationships, and I got along well with the great team and my boss at the time (Radomír Klofáč). What he says goes, and more importantly, he does what he says. I'm also used to stability, which is why I've been with the company for so long.

How do you remember your beginnings at MORIS? I remember it very well. We installed light boxes on old telephone booths, and after work we went for a beer with the boss, went on trips to Sněžka, for example, and then downhill on rented scooters. It was such euphoria. I enjoyed it a lot and still do. I threw myself into everything with tremendous enthusiasm. It's true that nothing hurt me back then, I was younger. Today it's a little worse. Sometimes something hurts.

How has the company changed in the 17 years you've been here? It has grown from a family business into a large company, but fortunately it is still family-owned, which I really appreciate. A lot of people have changed over that time, and other good colleagues have joined. Today, there are about 200 of us. It's true that 17 years is a really long time, but I'm still loyal.

What were you most concerned about? When the owner, Radomír, left on a long trip abroad, I had a feeling that it wasn't good and that the company wasn't being run by the right people. Fortunately, both of his sons soon took over the management of the company, and this had an immediate effect, with the company quickly going from strength to strength.

What position do you work in? I work in production. I am now in charge of components that are being refurbished. This is also due to the fact that I have been here for a long time, so I have a good overview of everything that has been done historically. I can fill seven positions, including electrician and locksmith...

Is there anything you would like to share that we haven't talked about? I am very glad that I tried different jobs in the company and was given such an opportunity. I was sick a few times, so I know what it's like to be at home. I was glad to be able to come back to work because here at MORIS, life is more cheerful.
