About the project
In 1999, the first Slovak Tesco hypermarket opened in Nitra – a symbol of a new way of shopping and modern retail. Twenty-six years later, this iconic space underwent extensive modernization, which was carried out in 2024 by the MORIS design and MORIS construction SK team.
We carried out a complete refit of the hypermarket, covering an area of more than 7,000 m², which included construction, electrical, ventilation, and sanitary modifications. The aim was to create an attractive, functional, and well-organized environment that meets the current standards of the Tesco brand and improves overall customer comfort.
The project also included a significant spatial change – the creation of several new retail units, including the Tedi brand, which bring a new offering to the complex and revitalize the shopping atmosphere.
The construction work was carried out during full operation, day and night, with maximum regard for safety and smooth operation. Thanks to the precise planning and coordination of the team led by Marian Šťastný, everything was completed on schedule – from June 2024 to January 2025.
The result is a modern, functional, and aesthetically unified space that builds on the tradition of this location and prepares Tesco Nitra for another decade of operation.
