About the project
After three years, the iconic Prior department store in the center of Pardubice has reopened. It includes a Tesco hypermarket, which, with a sales area of approximately 1,350 m², is the largest rental unit. Construction work took place on two floors. In the basement, we prepared storage spaces and social facilities. On the first floor, we worked on the day room, the main cash register area, including a security partition, and the sales area itself.
Our delivery included the complete installation of new flooring, electrical wiring, heating, and lighting. This plays an important role in the store, as it can influence shoppers' behavior and contribute to a positive customer experience.
As the general contractor, we also coordinated the installation of fire protection measures – SHZ, EPS, and ERO. We also provided refrigeration technology. Using a crane, we installed a steel structure for the heat exchanger. Last but not least, we also supplied three roller shutter grilles.
The brutalist-style department store stands out primarily for its octagonal windows reminiscent of honeycombs – a reference to the production of gingerbread, for which the city of Pardubice is so famous. Customers can now enjoy shopping in a modernized environment of architectural uniqueness.
